Workshop–Collaborative Cyanotype with Madge Evers

Artist Madge Evers invites the public to participate as subjects in a public art project to be exhibited at the Hampden Gallery's Incubator Project Space in February 2027.

On September 11, Evers will create a large-scale cyanotype featuring life-sized human silhouettes intertwined with plant forms. Participants will be invited to lie down on a large fabric sheet that has been treated with a non-toxic, light-sensitive solution and placed in direct sunlight. Subjects will be guided to remain still for approximately ten minutes while the image is exposed. 

After exposure, the fabric will be developed in water, revealing a deep blue image that records the trace of the body alongside surrounding plant life. No prior experience is needed — only curiosity and a willingness to participate.
