Wicked: Immersive sing-along film screening and cOZplay event
Popular! This event’s gonna be pop-U-lar!
The Fine Arts Center's annual pre-Halloween mashup of the performing arts and the art of cosplay hits year-three on a high note (or, actually, a whole sequence of high notes). Two years ago, we led you on a journey down the rabbit hole with Alice. Last year, we dared you to brave a visit to Castle Frankenstein. This year, we're inviting you to be part of a swankified evening of wonders like you’ve never seen in the Emerald City.
We’ll screen the sing-along version of 2024’s blockbuster movie, Wicked, inviting you and a thousand or so of your friends (new and old) to channel your inner Elphabas and Galindas and belt out your faves. We’ll have UMass student vocal groups on hand to lead the sing-along festivities.
And before we even start the film, we’ll invite you to join us for one of our now legendary cosplay events.
cOZplay starts at 6:30 p.m.
Admission is free for Wicked film screening ticket holders
Advance registration is required
We’ll turn the Randolph W. Bromery Center for the Arts lobby (and, weather permitting, plaza) into a scene out of Oz itself. You come in costume. We’ll have treats, music, games, and prizes. And Monte Belmonte, host and executive producer of New England Public Media’s The Fabulous 413 and a Wicked enthusiast himself, will be on hand to host and lead a celebration of your costume creativity.
The Wicked screening and cosplay event is presented in collaboration with Campus Life and Wellbeing, Jed Campus Team, Residential Life, Student Engagement Leadership, and the University Programming Council.
