Few voices in pop history are as instantly recognizable, or as deeply loved, as Karen Carpenter’s.

The duo Karen formed with her brother Richard defined soft rock in the 1970s. The Carpenters were ubiquitous on the airwaves and dominant on the pop charts. Thirteen of their singles reached the Billboard Hot 100’s top ten, and twenty-two climbed into the top ten on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart. They had nine albums certified gold, platinum, or multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. More than forty years after Karen’s tragic death, the Carpenters continue to hold a place among America’s all-time most beloved pop acts.

The Carpenters Songbook: A Live Celebration brings Karen’s extraordinary contralto voice, Richard’s meticulous harmonies and instrumental tracks, and the duo’s timeless catalog back to the stage in a beautifully crafted production from the creative team behind The Simon & Garfunkel Story

A love letter to the quiet magic of Karen and Richard Carpenter, the show captures the emotion and musical brilliance of favorites including “We’ve Only Just Begun,” “Close to You,” and “Rainy Days and Mondays.” Featuring a full band and paired with heartfelt storytelling, The Carpenters Songbook is a touching tribute that invites audiences to sing along, reminisce, and fall in love all over again.
